Tell me more about Sedation dentistry...
It
Really Works! You really can snooze through your dental appointment.
It Is Safe! You will take either oral medication of have IV sedation depending on your individual needs. Conscious sedation is the method of sedation provided by this type of oral and I.V sedation. These medications allow patients to maintain an active airway, respond to their doctor, but have a high degree of amnesia.
You
will have little or no memory of the experience. You won't remember
any sounds or smells.
You will snooze for up to five to six hours after taking the pill. The
time you are snoozing will vary depending on your needed treatment.
Complex
dental treatments that often require six to eight appointments, can be done
in as little as one! All while you snooze.
People
who have difficulty getting numb will find that sedation dentistry
eliminates this problem.
What is I.V. sedation?
I.V sedation is the use of
medication placed directly into the veins to provide conscious
sedation. The patient is able to breathe on his or her own, respond to
questions and assist the dentist during the procedure. They will have
little or no memory of the procedure though...
